Your Future Starts Here: How Paycom Helps Launch Meaningful Careers

Abraham Mendieta | June 5, 2025

At Paycom, investing in young talent means investing in our future — and others are taking notice.

We’re proud to be named one of Forbes’ America’s Best Employers for New Grads in 2025 — a recognition that highlights our commitment to providing meaningful opportunities, career development and a workplace culture that supports young professionals. We also earned Handshake’s Early Talent Award for the second year in a row, a distinction based on feedback from students and recent grads who’ve jumpstarted their careers with us.

But awards only tell part of the story. The rest? You’ll find it in the paths our interns and new grads carve, the mentorship they receive and the community they help create.

Internships that launch careers

Looking for your first job or internship while you’re still in college can feel overwhelming. That’s why we meet students where they are — with structured, supportive programs designed to build confidence, sharpen skills and expand professional networks.

Each year, Paycom welcomes nearly 300 interns across the U.S. to join our teams in:

  • Software Development
  • Information Technology
  • Corporate
  • Operations
  • Sales

These internships are paid, hands-on and rooted in real experience from Day 1. Participants work alongside industry experts, tackle meaningful projects and gain exposure to what life at a fast-growing tech company is really like. Some of our interns even become Paycom employees.

“The biggest factor that brought me back to Paycom after graduation was the people,” said Hiba (she/her), a former intern turned product designer in our Grapevine office. “I experienced the friendly culture and welcoming workplace firsthand, and I knew Paycom would continue to support my growth.”

We take our commitment to equip talent with the skills they need to succeed very seriously. Our interns receive mentorship, coaching and development resources tailored to their goals, whether that’s mastering a new skill or learning to navigate their first job offer.

Give yourself a head start

Even if you’re early in your education, you don’t have to wait to start building your career. Paycom offers several programs to help students grow their knowledge, prepare for internships and explore future opportunities without the need for pre-existing experience.

Here’s a quick look:

Paycom Accelerating Your Career (PAYC)

PAYC is a virtual, two-week professional development program that helps job seekers prepare for the recruiting process. From resume-building to interview prep and personal branding, PAYC is built to boost your confidence and help you stand out in competitive applicant pools.

Summer Engagement Program

Through a mix of training, webinars and networking events, this free program offers students insights into job roles on our Technology and Operations teams. Participants hear directly from Paycom recruiters and subject matter experts, gaining practical knowledge that can help inform their next steps.

Sales Summit

This immersive, virtual program gives aspiring sales professionals a chance to build foundational sales skills, learn from Paycom’s top-performing Sales employees and explore what it’s like to work in the HR-tech industry. Many participants go on to land internships or full-time roles in our industry-leading team.

From your first year of college to your final semester, our programs are built to meet you where you are — and help you get where you want to go.

A workplace that offers more than a job

According to Deloitte, only 52% of Gen Z and 58% of millennials rate their mental well-being as “good” or “very good.” This underscores the growing importance of workplace environments that prioritize employee well-being, connection and support.

At Paycom, it’s not just about where you work — it’s about how it feels to work there. We’re proud to foster a culture where people feel valued, connected and empowered to grow. That means creating space for employees to build relationships, celebrate identity and give back to their communities.

Belonging and ERGs

Our 11 employee resource groups (ERGs) bring people together through shared backgrounds, interests and experiences. These groups host everything from cultural celebrations and networking events to allyship workshops and speaker panels. For new grads navigating the workplace for the first time, ERGs offer community, mentorship and a culture of belonging from Day 1. These groups — including those for women, Black professionals, veterans and LGBTQ+ employees — exist to make everyone feel seen, heard and supported. All employees are welcome to join any of our ERGs.

Giving back together

Paycom is committed to making a difference in the places our employees live and work. In 2024 alone, we donated more than $3.2 million to nearly 400 organizations across 37 states and Washington, D.C. through small grants, employee giving and corporate sponsorships, with $224,000 coming directly from our employees.

We support employee giving through donation matching, company-sponsored volunteer events and partnerships with local nonprofits. Our employees are encouraged to take time to serve their communities, and our interns are no exception. Every summer, interns across the country participate in a dedicated day of service, volunteering with organizations focused on food security, education, housing and more.

For many, it’s a chance to connect not just with teammates, but with something larger: a shared purpose.
