Paycom encourages local volunteerism with employee philanthropy fairs

Nearly 30 nonprofits attended in OKC and Grapevine

OKLAHOMA CITY (Oct. 13, 2023) Paycom Software, Inc. (NYSE:PAYC), a leading provider of comprehensive, cloud-based human capital management software, hosted nearly 30 Oklahoma City and Grapevine area nonprofits at philanthropy fairs on Oct. 13. The events highlighted each nonprofit’s mission and encouraged Paycom team members to learn more and volunteer.

In addition to support the company has previously provided to the attending nonprofits, Paycom surprised each organization with a $1,000 donation. The surprise contributions totaled $18,000 in Oklahoma City and $10,000 in Grapevine.

“Calm Waters values partnering with community-minded companies in central Oklahoma, and we are extremely grateful Paycom is one of those partners,” Calm Waters CEO Erin Engelke said. “Serving the most vulnerable in our community, specifically children and families who have experienced tremendous loss, can’t happen without all of us working together. It means so much to have the opportunity to share our hope-filled mission with the employees at Paycom.”

While at the philanthropy fair, Paycom team members were also able to pack 300 cancer care packages for Tenaciously Teal, a nonprofit that works with local hospitals, and stuff 750 deployment backpacks for USO, an organization dedicated to military members and families.

“Our team members truly care and want to serve the community,” said Tara Steffens, Paycom’s team leader of corporate philanthropy programs. “The philanthropy fair creates a positive environment that inspires our people to learn more about local causes and get inspired to be a part of something greater than themselves.”

“As a nonprofit, Canine Companions relies on the generosity of supporters like Paycom to make a life-changing difference,” said Laura Manning, director of philanthropy at Canine Companions. “We can fulfill our mission of providing expertly trained service dogs to people with disabilities completely free of charge thanks to donations from organizations like Paycom.”

Participating nonprofits included City Rescue Mission, Pivot, Calm Waters, LifeShare, The Salvation Army, Tenaciously Teal, Free Mom Hugs, Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma, The Anna’s House Foundation, Boys & Girls Clubs of Oklahoma County, USO, Tarrant Area Food Bank, Canine Companions, Grapevine Relief & Community Exchange (GRACE), Fort Worth Botanic Garden, Six Stones, CitySquare and more.
